Keep your copyright line up to date
The little details at the bottom of a website are easy to forget. The copyright year is one of them. You might add a copyright line when the site launches, then remember it again months later when the year has changed. Very Simple Copyright Shortcode gives you one simple place to set up the line you want and display it wherever your WordPress site accepts shortcodes.
Add [ / vs_copyright / ] (without the / / ) to a page, post, widget or footer that supports shortcodes. The plugin displays your copyright year and site title, and can include a “Powered by” line with the text and link you choose. If you want to show a start year, the current year is added when it changes, so the line can display a year range.
You can make those choices in the plugin settings. Set the year and site title, adjust the attribution text and link, and preview the output before you add the shortcode to your site. That makes it easier to see how the final line will read without editing your theme files.
The shortcode works without connecting a licence. If you have a licence, connect your website in the Licensing tab to check for eligible plugin updates. Your copyright line remains available even if the account connection is unavailable.
It’s a small plugin for a small job: make your copyright line easy to set up, easy to place and easier to keep current.
